Trees and Plants

There are many different species of trees and plants in North America.  Trees are classified

as either a Deciduous tree or a Coniferous tree.   Deciduous trees have leaves that change

colors and drop off in the Fall of the year.   Coniferous trees have needles and cones instead of leaves.  Deciduous trees are commonly called Hardwood trees, and Coniferous trees are commonly called Softwood trees.  The study of trees is called Dendrology.
